Aranui School are coming down to the Waiwherowhero Stream/Port Bowen Reserve (bottom Taupata St) for a planting morning on this Monday. So experienced helpers would be appreciated by the organisers.

It’s the start of a community project being organised by Horizons and Whanganui District Council to start planting up Waiwherowhero stream (Karaka Steam) that runs below Karaka Street and the foredunes and out to sea beside what is known as Seafront Road extension

Horizons have a regional project to plant up steams and this is an important one as it harbours the only native fish population known locally.
