Harvesting pingao seed for our planting in the winter of 2023
If you wish to join in, come out and meet at the Pavilion car park, beach end of Rangiora St.
A secateur will be useful and a bag, preferably large paper or shopping cloth type, to collect the seed heads in, but we’ll supply some and can share the tasks.

Our back dune plants are looking sad with the dry weather and all this wind. We can get 4 hoses working in that area.
So I suggest extra pairs of hands take a couple of trailer loads of mulch over to the top car park and bucket it down the slope around the Harakeke where we planted last winter. We might be able water these plants too if the BBQ tap is available
Meet by the mulch pile near Seafront Road, between Rangiora St and Manuka St. (look seaward)
