Purpose of group: Help protect and restored the dunes near Ruakaka Surf Club from erosion, and keep the sand from blowing inland.
About the group: Initiated by concerns about sand blowing inland at the vehicle access by the surf club, the group has worked with NRC, WDC to fence and plant the dunes near the surf club. This work has been very effective in building the dunes up and reducing the sand lost inland.
