Auckland 2022

Coastal restoration: Measuring our progress

We are excited to announce details of our next conference:

The theme of our 2022 conference will be on monitoring: Coastal restoration: Measuring our progress. It will be held on 16-18 March 2022 and hosted by the AUT Department of Environmental Science. Indoor sessions will be held at AUT, City campus, Building WG, level 2, 55 Wellesley Street East, Auckland Central.

Fieldtrips will be held around the Auckland Region.

Here is a draft of the programme and the fee schedule.

A regular and popular feature of our conferences is the “Regional Roundup” session, with updates on coastal restoration work happening around Aotearoa. Groups are invited to give a 5-minute talk on their coastal work. This year there will also be a separate session giving students the opportunity to give a 5-minute “lightning” presentation on their research. If you wish to give a presentation during either of these sessions please indicate that when you register. A timed PowerPoint template will be sent to all who’ve registered. This can be helpful, but it is optional to use.

An optional weekend fieldtrip is being planned for 19-20 March. The location is yet to be finalised, but offshore islands are being considered.

Keep an eye on this page where details will be posted when they become available. Registrations are expected to open late November.

In the event of cancellation due to covid restrictions, the event will be rescheduled if feasible, or attendees will be reimbursed.

Note that vaccination certificates may be required depending on AUT and/or national policies at the time.

The conference is being made possible by the generosity of AUT Department of Environmental Science, Gold sponsor Biological Heritage National Science Challenge and sponsor Stories in Action.
